Midnight Circus says Goodbye to our Beloved Junebug
Junebug, our beloved rescued Pitbull performer took her final bow last weekend. She started her life with the odds stacked against her, but had her luck turn around when Midnight Circus’s director Jeff Jenkins found her in a parking lot while working with the Humane Society’s End Dogfighting Campaign. Junebug became an instant family member to the Jenkins, and for the past twelve years, Jeff and Junebug have entertained and inspired hundreds of thousands of children and families throughout Chicago and the country. Junebug spread joy and laughter, tolerance and patience, all while overturning harmful stereotypes about her breed. She used her story of rescued dog turned center-stage performer to inspire empathy and kindness to all who met her. We are so grateful she was a part of our circus and that we were lucky enough to be her family.
Thank you to HEAL Veterinary Clinic for taking such good care of Junebug for many years and making her last moments peaceful and pain free. Give your pets an extra ear-scratch or belly-rub today, and share Junebug’s spirit of unconditional love to pets and people alike.
"Chicago has some real challenges... Children and families enjoying Midnight Circus in their local park ain't one of them" - Longtime Chicagoan
Dear Midnight Circus Community, For nearly two decades, Midnight Circus has brought Chicagoans of all ages, races, and socioeconomic status together to laugh, gasp, dream, and be inspired.
We are excited to welcome the new year and eager to bring our much anticipated 2023 Tour to parks all over Chicago!
This time last year we were eagerly planning our 2020 Big Top tour when we had to regroup and plan what would eventually become our safe and spectacular Open Air Tour. We are extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish last year amidst the challenges thrown our way.
